The Chelsea Science Festival was a blast. Literally! We had our participants Parts & Crafts from Somerville, Ma and Harvard Museum with a professor and graduate students from the earth and planetary department create rockets with the audience and shoot them into the air. It was great looking at different participants creating connections with each other and engaging with the community.

Kids were happy to receive their free t-shirt and science kit in a Chelsea Cotton reusable bag which is being promoted to notify residents that starting December, plastic bags are going to be of cost. Our city is trying to go green, not only for the planet, but for humankind as well.

On the go Science Activities

All summer long, we set up a table outside the library and did fun science experiments with kids that came up to us. We collaborated with the Summer Food Program outside the library and took advantage with families who were eating to do science with them and invite them to the festival.
